At The Movies with Margaret and David

On its stunning visual vistas alone, this film earns the 4-star rating. The camera work, breath-taking scenery and colour-coded sub-chapters are all sumptuous and nothing less than spectacular.
The fight scenes are well thought out and executed, the first one between Nameless (Jet Li) and Sky (Donnie Yen) being the best.
For a martial arts movie it has a v-e-r-y leisurely pace. If you’ve watched a lot of Chinese martial arts movies it’s probably too slow but if you haven’t, it’s likely a visual feast.
For myself, it’s a welcome return to form (and Chinese films) for the amazing Jet Li. Many of his Western offerings (eg The One) have been well below the ability of this consummate martial artist. More Chinese films, please Jet!
